Judges
We are always looking for volunteer Judges from a range of backgrounds to support our school events. A judge does not need to be a Richard Branson or have specialist knowledge - all that is usually required is for the volunteer to either work or have worked in business and to have a good grasp of the skills required to perform in today's business world.
The usual format is for student teams to spend a day working on a specific enterprise challenge. The time commitment for a judge is usually a morning or an afternoon's work.
Working in teams, the volunteers judge the business presentations made by the students and mark them against specific judging criteria. The role involves either judging "portfolios" of work submitted to the panel or judging live presentations from the student teams.
The judges are always fully briefed prior to their judging session and are given criteria to judge against using an existing judging form.
Judges feedback from previous events:
- A very worthwhile event (Apple Print)
- I was very impressed with the organisation of the event including the briefing and was also impressed with the students enthusiasm (PepsiCo)
- Excellent value for the students and school (Eames Laurie Financial Services)
- Exciting and great fun! (Vodafone)
- Very good. Impressed with the students confidence (Learning & Skills Council)
- Very interesting, students put in a lot of work and it showed, all credit to them. A realistic exercise and fun (Ministry of Defence)
- I enjoyed it! (3T RPD)
