WOW Activities
The following Enhancement Days are currently scheduled:
WOW Celebration Day - May 2009
Students will spend the day at Thatcham Lakes celebrating all that they have achieved as part of the World of Work programme. The morning will be spent building bird boxes and maintaining the pathways around the lakes. The parents are then invited to join the celebrations at the lakes in the afternoon.Armed Forces Skills Day - April 2009
Students will spend the day with either the Army or the RAF. Students will be involved in a series of team building activities.Sparsholt College - February 2009
Students will visit Sparsholt College in Hampshire. The day will commence with a tour of the college, leading on to a talk about further education and what options are available at the college. Courses offered are animal care, tree surgery, constuction, veterinary nursing and carpentry.Conservation Project - January 2009
Students will visit Thatcham Lakes and see the work that is involved in running a conservation area. The day will inslude talks from the RSPB and the Countryside Wardens.Southampton Football Club - November 2008
Southampton Football Club take the students through a series of skills based workshops. Students will gain an insight into training and the career paths that are available at the club.WOW Launch Day - September 2008
A day of team building activities for the students on the WOW (World of Work) Programme. Students will work as teams and get to know each other throughout the day. Activities include Archery, Orienteering and Shelter Building.
