Every year hundreds of local businesses play a vital role in broadening young people's horizons by showing them how the things they learn at school and college are used in the world of work. Each year we celebrate that commitment and recognise the value of their contribution.
At the Think BIG! Grand Final last week, students from three West Berkshire schools had the opportunity to present their wacky and creative ideas to panel of judges.
The Grand Final, kindly hosted by the Hilton Newbury Centre, was the culmination of a series of in-school events organised by the Education Business Partnership West Berkshire.
Enthusiastic Curridge Primary School pupils had the opportunity to practise their numeracy skills in a new way, with the aim to increase the pupil's enthusiasm and interest in Mathematics, Geography and Science.
The Education Business Partnership West Berkshire (EBP) achieved the Award for Education Business Excellence this week.

The Award is run by the Institute for Education Business Excellence, a new professional body dedicated to driving change in the education business sector to create real opportunities for young people to develop the skills they need for adult life.
Education Business Partnership Organisations work with over 300,000 companies and organisations nationally to enable employers to work successfully in partnership with schools and colleges as a contribution to young people’s education and their journey to adulthood.
The Education Business Partnership West Berkshire is a local charity in West Berkshire which promotes and organises a wide range of innovative work related learning activities for young people in education within West Berkshire.
Through partnerships forged between business professionals, teachers and students we create and deliver work related and vocational learning opportunities to inform, motivate and inspire young people at all levels for their future working lives.
"We've almost finished organising over 2000 work experience placements for this year's pre-16s across West Berkshire."
