Personal Effectiveness Tool - PET

PET logo

PET is a new web-based tool for supporting young people in developing enterprising capabilities. Fully interactive, it captures evidence of students' enterprise learning and gives them incentives to undertake structured self-assessment.

The tool was created by Perfect Education Ltd, a not for profit company set up by in March 2006. Its directors include Amanda Richards (CEO EBP West Berks), Ed Cooper (Director, Thames Valley Enterprise Hub) and Matthew Evans (Assistant Head, Forest School and BBC National Enterprise Teacher of the Year 2007) who actually designed the product. The company was created in response to EBP West Berks' need for a means of improving and measuring Enterprise learning. PET directly addresses this market.

As a teacher, you can share and benefit from his experience by trialling PET to embed the delivery of enterprise skills within your school.

The tool advocates assessing what individuals can do as evidence of their learning and data is easily accessible to demonstrate the effectiveness of any enterprise learning programme. Above all, it is designed to appeal to young people, making innovative use of educational games, point scoring, leader boards and personalised features to engage the student.

PET is available to any student in a subscribing school and is accessible from anywhere with internet access.
