  The fundamental philosophy in the Health & Social Care curriculum states "in order to understand the nature of Health & Social Care, students must actively experience the Health & Social Care Environment.*" The resources within this pack have been researched and developed with healthcare professionals and will give insight into the environment and working practice.
This package offers support material and ideas on

Who is this package for?

  • This support package is structured to work for both teachers of GCSE Health & Social Care and as a guide for partner Education Business Partnerships (EBPs). For information on your local EBP, contact the National EBP Network on 01635 279914.

What is in this package?

  • This package will support each section of each Unit, offering clear routes for integration into the working environment of Health Care and early years, with:
  • Workshops - work related learning material with support activities and reference material for Unit 1 & 2
  • Work placements and supporting worksheets to support assignments for Unit 1. Direct experience of a workplace focused to equip the students with an understanding of the skills needed in the workplace or for further education or training
  • Speakers and Conference style learning opportunities to support Units 1 and 2. Guidance to develop interactive conferences either independently or with your local Education Business Partnership (EBP)
  • Teacher Placements practically to assist the teachers to gain the technical knowledge, skills and understanding
  • Unit 3 Case studies and activities - 'Life Events'
  • Reference summary to support all Units
  • Reference is made to 'best practice' events and activities that have been piloted, evaluated and proved successful. They have effectively increased access to Health Care Professionals for students.
