Enhancement Day with the Royal Marines: Self defence training
The WOW programme also includes Enhancement Days which are designed to bring all the students together to give practical insight into a range of local businesses.
The majority of these days focus strongly on building up the students' understanding of the world of work. For example, the visit to Sainsbury's will include a behind the scenes introduction to the recruitment process and what the company looks for in potential new employees.
Other Enhancement Days may concentrate more on encouraging more adult, appropriate behaviour. For example, the visit to Newbury Fire Service will aim to educate the students regarding the dangers of hoax calling and the importance of understanding and accepting the consequences of your behaviour.
